According to the news report, It seems that a double quake struck the Sumatra's Island, near the city of Padang at about 1716 local time (1016 GMT) and 0852 local time (0152 GMT) respectively. The two quakes recorded an alarming value of 7.6 in magnitude and 6.8 in magnitude (on the Richter scale) and virtually pulverize the whole town. Death toll due to this natural disaster is still on the climb as many are still trapped among the rubble generated due to the earthquake. At Malaysia, the aftermath of the earthquake hit near George Town, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya where high rise buildings shooks and residents flee to the open field. Eventhough my friend felt the shock, I didn't feel anything though, maybe I was too dense or was too deep in sleep to even register the shock. ==
It was also predicted that a larger quake may hit again in the near future and should it hit near the west of peninsula Malaysia, our country would not be so lucky again to escape with just a tiny shake of buildings again. According to the news report, the earthquake hit near the Sunda Megatrust where a mega quake was predicted to occur in about a decade.
On the other hand, Typhoon Ketsana that was raging in the Philippines and Vietnam is now making its way to Cambodia. Many trees are uprooted in the storm and house were toppled over in its wake. Some parts of Vietnam are still cover in flash floods and landslide covers the road everywhere. Many were injured and killed in this tragedy and the death toll is still climbing with the flow of time.
After reading those news, I'm feel sad and sympathy towards the victims of these natural disaster. However, I felt a deep stream of relieve as I'm safe and sound in Malaysia, where no treathening natural disaster occur here. Still, with so much disaster which happens recently, it makes me wonder that whether Judgement Day is near predicted long ago...
Hope you have a great day ahead,
