Hi everyone, it has been a while since I update my blog. Even though it is an auspicious event for the muslim friends today, however it is heartbreaking to know that the creator of Crayon Shin Chan, Usui Yoshito had passed away on 11 September 2009. (Confirmed on 20 September 09)
It was a devastating year this entire year as many of our favourite artist such as the king of Pop, Micheal Jackson; The award winning film director and also the one to unite the Malaysian together through film and TV commercials, Yasmin Ahmad; Senator of the United States and an influence political figure, Edward Moore "Ted" Kennedy and now, Usui Yoshito had joined their ranks in the afterlife.
I'm sure that everyone had heard about the comic 'Crayon Shin Chan' at least once in their life and some others are fanatic about this comic including myself. It was this comic which accompanied me through my childhood and into my adolescence years, guiding me and cheer me up whenever I felt sad or bored. It has bought laughter and tears to me through the adventures of Shin Chan and his friends and possibly the comic which had developed the reading habit in myself. It was also one of the earliest comic in my entire comic collections which I'm proud of till this day. From the comic and the character of Shin Chan, I had learned to have more confident in myself and adapt a more positive attitude towards others in life and also for the future. From volume 1 till the latest volume (vol. 49), Usui Yoshito had put in a lot of effort in providing a means of communication between parents and their children through the character of Shin Chan and his family. He tries hard to preach the younger generations the values of life and to avoid evil influences by our deteriorating society in this modern era.
Even so, this are all God's will and a part of the cycle of life that every living beings in this world has to undergoes. Lastly, I just wanna pray that Usui Yoshito will get a better reborn and eventhough I don't really know him, I wanna tell him that his effort had not been wasted and many others, including myself are delighted that this comic had brought us together despite the religion, geographic location and language barrier. He was a great manga artist that we all will be forever greatful too.
Finally, Rest In Peace, Usui Yoshito.
